Virtual Bus Tour
South Australia
Virtual Bus Tour
South Australia is famous for its food, wine, and stunning coastal and outback landscapes, with a climate that ranges from Mediterranean in the south to arid desert in the north.
That geographic and climatic variation lends itself to a wide range of agricultural pursuits, both dryland and irrigated, which contribute an estimated $14 billion to the state’s economy.
As much as farmers love to look ‘over the fence’ during bus tours, field days, crop walks, and other traditional in-person events, COVID-19 has demonstrated that’s not always possible.
The Virtual Bus Tour project aims to showcase opportunities for precision agriculture across four regions of South Australia by sharing the stories of farmers who have adopted a variety of different PA practices. They include producers in the grain, livestock, dairy, horticulture, and viticulture sectors.
The tour is pitched at farmers, landholders, and others who are interested in learning more about precision agriculture and its impact on productivity, profitability, and sustainability. This collection of case studies is accessible online 24/7, allowing anyone who’s interested to read them at a time that’s convenient or download and print a copy for later.
Buckle up, choose your starting point on the map, and settle in for the ride!
